Eleanor M. Pratt Endowment for English Majors is awarded to students whose lives have been impacted through studying writing and/or literature. The award honors the legacy of Eleanor Mary Pratt, who had a deep love of literature, the English language and the fine arts.

Georgia Southern University recently named 2,611 students for excellence in academics to the 2015 Spring Semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,194 students for excellence in academics on the 2015 Spring Semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia State University graduated more than 5,700 students receiving bachelor's, master's and specialist's degrees at the university's spring and summer commencement on Saturday, May 9 in the Georgia Dome.

Piedmont College held summer Commencement ceremonies July 26 at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center in Demorest. Some 347 students earned degrees, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching, Education Specialist, and Doctoral degrees.
